Salomon MTN Lab and MTN Explore Ski Boot Buckles

Replacement buckles for all models and all years for Salomon MTN Lab and MTN Explore other ski boots. Please note that although the buckles pictured may look slightly different to the ones on your boots they will fit in exactly the same way with a screw attachment via the screw rivet provided. Please do not call us asking us to source the correct colour or style for your ski boots, Salomon produce and supply only one variation.

How to identify the correct buckle

If you count the buckle closest to the toe of the boot as the  “Instep Buckle”, Next upwards is the “Cuff Buckle”. Salomon also change the angle of the buckle depending on whether it’s on the left or right boot to improve aesthetics and make them easier to use so you will also need to select the correct side.

What we supply

The pack includes one buckle and a screw rivet attachment kit which comprises of one metric screw and one metric captive retaining nut for the inside of the boot.

How to fit the buckle

The rivets holding the buckle are made of steel so remove using a steel drill with a diameter of around about 6 to 8mm to gently drill off the heads of the rivets. You will need to take care the drill doesn’t slip and make a hole in the boot and beware that the drill can grab the plate of the buckle and spin it so keep your fingers out of the way! Then push out the rest of the rivet through the shell to make way for the retaining nut. You will need to make the existing holes in the boot larger using a 5mm drill so the captive nuts will push into the holes in the shell. Then simply offer the new buckle up to the shell and screw together.
